A mother struggles to support her family

Adjoa is a 36-year-old seamstress living in Kumasi, the Ashanti region of Ghana. Her pride and motivation come from her two energetic sons, aged 10 and 6. Her husband, a teacher, works in a rural community several hours away, where he’s posted by the education service. He comes home only on weekends, leaving Adjoa to manage their home and raise the boys on her own during the week.

Adjoa never had the chance to complete secondary school. As the eldest of five siblings, she began helping her aunt, a local tailor, when she was just a teenager. She quickly picked up the skill and eventually started her own small tailoring business from a wooden kiosk near the town center. Her workdays are long and full—she walks the boys to school, then heads straight to her shop, often sewing until nightfall with short breaks in between.

A transformation that began with a mobile phone

Despite her talent and hard work, Adjoa struggled to expand her business. She relied solely on her daily income, with no formal savings or access to bank loans. A few years ago, she tried a microloan from a local lender but was overwhelmed by the aggressive collection practices and rigid payment schedules. That’s why she was relieved to discover Easybuy Ghana, a Buy Now,Pay Later service designed with small business owners like her in mind. With daily, flexible payment options that match her cash flow, Easybuy Ghana gave her a chance to breathe.

Before Easybuy Ghana, Adjoa never imagined owning a smartphone. But through their installment plan, she got her first one. “I didn’t think it was possible,” she says. “Now I use it to take orders, showcase my designs on WhatsApp, and even get referrals from happy customers.” The impact was immediate. With better communication and improved customer service, her orders increased.

Easybuy, Easylife, life is full of more hope

Soon, she got a second smartphone for her husband, helping him stay in touch with the family and access educational resources for his students.

Thanks to the support she’s found through Easybuy Ghana, Adjoa now sees a brighter future for her business. She’s saving up to buy an electric sewing machine and dreams of opening a small boutique one day. “For the first time, I feel like I’m building something lasting for my children,” she says proudly.
