At just 26 years old, Norah Sebastian Kimathi has already carved out a meaningful career in the heart of Dar es Salaam. Living in Kigamboni but working at the Easybuy shop in Kariakoo, she has spent the past one year and ten months helping Tanzanians step into the digital world with smartphones they can afford.

What drew Norah to Easybuy was more than just a job opportunity. It was the flexibility of the work and the chance to be part of Tanzania’s fast-growing technology sector.

“Every day, more people need smartphones for their daily routines whether it’s business, studies, or staying in touch. I wanted to be part of that change,” she explains.

A Day in the Life at Kariakoo

Norah’s days begin with the practical checking in biometrically at work and ensuring the shop is neat and welcoming. From there, her focus shifts entirely to customers: listening, advising, and walking them through Easybuy’s installment loan process.

What stands out to her is the diversity of people she serves. “From high-income earners to low-income customers, everyone comes through our doors,” she says.

For each, the process starts with a simple question: What model of phone do you want? From there, Norah explains how Easybuy works, highlighting the down payment, repayment options, and eligibility requirements in clear, reassuring detail.

One Customer, Six Phones, and a Family Connected

Among the many stories that have shaped her experience, one customer’s journey remains unforgettable. Initially, he came for a single phone loan. But over time, he returned again and again eventually loaning a total of six phones.

“Some were for him, but the rest were for his family,” Norah recalls with a smile. For her, it was a powerful reminder of how Easybuy doesn’t just change individual lives but entire households. Families can now stay connected, children can access learning tools, and businesses can expand their reach all because a smartphone has become attainable.

How Easybuy Has Impacted Norah’s Life

Norah’s time with Easybuy has been transformative not just professionally, but personally. The job has helped her gain valuable financial stability and confidence, enabling her to support her family and invest in her own future.

“I’ve learned so much about communication, sales, and customer service,” she says. “Easybuy has given me the skills and experience I need to grow in this industry, and it has made me more independent.”

Expanding Communication Across Tanzania

Norah believes Easybuy’s impact goes beyond affordability. As the first company in Tanzania to offer tech loans, it is playing a pioneering role in shaping the country’s digital future.

“Easybuy has increased the web of communication in Tanzania,” she explains. “We are making it possible for more people to own smartphones, which means stronger connections, more opportunities, and better access to information.”

More Than a Career

For Norah, working with Easybuy is not just about meeting sales it’s about building trust with customers and opening new possibilities for communities. Each day in Kariakoo, she sees firsthand how technology transforms lives, one installment at a time.

Her story reflects the promise Easybuy continues to deliver: bridging the gap between aspiration and access, and connecting Tanzania to a brighter, more digital future.
